My husband and I checked into El Convento for one night -- it was the last night of our vaction and we decided to see old San Juan -- well were we delighted that we choose El Convento -- We are seasoned travelers and I have to say this was one of the most delightful experiences we've had over the years. The staff were very professional, everything we ordered was delivered on time with a smile. The staff at the front desk were professional and pleasant and experienced with the business traveler. They suggested a terrific restaurant (organic) "Marmalade" for dinner! We would like to go back and experience both the hotel "El Conveto and old San Juan for a longer period of time -- one dayand night was just not long enough.

stayed june 2010, very quiet-great place for couples. staff was very friendly and helpful. whole trip to PR was excellent. San Juan has lots of history and beautiful architecture. excellent restaurants as well. shops are a little kitchy. El Convento is right in the middle of it all. walking distance to everything in old San Juan. would highly recommend.

I booked a superior room for three nights at El Convento a few month ago for a much needed relaxing vacation and arrived today to a very small twin bed. The hotel staff assured me that the twin beds were considered a "superior" room. I haven't slept a twin bed in over 25 years and seriously hope I don't fall out. This is taking the convent experience a little too seriously. My mother always wanted me to be a nun, but really! Check before you reserve!

I go to San Juan pretty often, and for some reason never got to stay at El Convento. Finally I decided to try and the experience was just great! Perfect service, unbeatable location, neat rooms! They also offer daily wine tasting within the property While in the heart of "old san juan" historic district, the hotel does not offer any of the traditional resort services ( if you are looking for a beach hotel, with a nice pool and spa, that's not your place )

From the time we arrive the service was excellent. The Hotel staff were more than helpful Parking is very tight in Old San Juan and they had Valet parking right across the street which was great. The Old world atmosphere was worth the money I paid. We loved it and would return again. The food at the Tapas bar was execllent as well.
